Description
HISTORY
The MacFarlane clan are descendants of the Earl of Lennox. In 1420 the lands at Arrochar were bestowed to Iain MacPharlain. One story is that the full moon was known as ‘MacFarlane’s Lantern’ due to the clans daring night time activities, particularly against the Colquhoun clan. The MacFarlanes were one of the most feared and respected families in the highlands.
The MacFarlane Hunting tartan contains a deep green with fine red black and pale stripes.
