HISTORY
The Gunn clan is thought to go back to Gun, Gunn, Gunni or Guin, the second son of Olaf the Black, one of the original Norwegian Kinds of Man and the Isles. The family settled in Caithness, later Sutherland. At the time of the Highland clearances, many of the Gunn clan emigrated to New Zealand and Canada.
The Gunn Ancient tartan contains a pale green and blue with black and a red stripe.
Crest: An arm attired in the Gunn tartan with the hand grasping a basket hilt sword.Seat: No currently recognised Clan Chief, or armigerous clan.
Gaelic Name: Guinne
