HISTORY
The Campbell clan goes back to 1260 with the earliest known Campbell, Gillaesbaig of Menstrie, father of Cailean Mor ( Great Colin) who was knighted and established at Loch Awe in 1280. The first Inveraray Castle, the seat of the Campbell clan, was built in 1457.
The Campbell tartan contains a rich fine blend of green with blue and black and a red stripe.
