HISTORY
The Bruce clan can be traced back to the 11th century to Normandy, France. Robert de Brus followed William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy to England in 1066.HIs son, also called Robert de Brus ( known as Robert le Meschin, or ‘The Cadet” was the first of the family to be connected to Scotland as a companion-in-arms to King David in 1124. He was granted the lands of Annandale. The tower of Clackmannan has a long history with the Bruce family and was once a home of Robert the Bruce.
The Bruce tartan contains a predominantly red with green and yellow and white stripes.
